Eva Rivas and her song Apricot Stone provided some visual stimulation for the crowds in the arena, with an animated apricot stone and waterfall on the stage. Her vocals were very strong and she was well received by the crowd of journalists and fans in the hall.

Great opening looking back through the years, brilliant! Then we move to the EUrovision logo, and we are introduced to a family from each of the participating countries in the final,

THen we move to Alexander Rybak and then to the presenters who introduce the show. They thank Russia for last year's show

and announce that voting can start NOW.

We then move onto song 1 - Azerbaijan.

Vocals much stronger, This is a strong opener, much better than yesterday in my opinion.

For me, its the silly run from the catwalk back to the stage that detracts from the song. Can this win singing first?

Daniel for Spain next up. Dressed in silver suit, with 4 backing dancers as toys. Vocals Excellent.

Set changes colour from blue to pink. Song builds excellently and we have pyrotechnics near the end and he holds last note. A strong contender I think, even from 2nd.

Didrik next on for Norway. A little shake at teh very start , nervous I'd say which is perfectly understandable. The backing singers are adding an extra depth in the vocals.

His vocals were great overall though he fluffed one note near the end. A HUGE reaction in the hall.

Moldova next. Good vocals and similar performance to semi final.

Set moves from blue to red.

Great crowd reaction ( bigger audience today) though will probably not do as well as it follows Norway.

Cyprus next on and his hair is combed back so we can see his eyes better on camera. Great camera shots of all of the band

Vocals are excellent. I honestly think that this is a contender for a shock win!

Vucasin next up for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He seems a lot more relaxed on stage compared to the semi final., though it s a muted response from the audience. Not a winner this year.

Tom Dice next up for Belgium. Standing on the front of the stage with his guitar. Great vocals and great camera shots. Great reaction in the hall. A definite contender but will it suffer just 2 songs after Cyprus?

Milan for Serbia next up. This is a huge contrast to Belgium before it. He is very relaxed on stage and definitely seems to be enjoying himself, probably due to the relief of qualifying. Great performance. I dont see this as a winner but Top 10, possibly even higher.

Then we have a break to a presenter reminding us to vote for our favourites.

Next its Belarus. Love the classy set for this one. Some nice camera shots of the singers, vocals very good, slightly ropey at the very start, but a great performance.

Niamh next on for Ireland. Same stage and dress as the semi final. Good

camera shots on the tin whistle. Niamh interacts well with the cameras, set changes from green to gold. Vocally excellent but she still didnt hold the infamous last note, though she held it for longer than in the semifinal.

Greece next up and this will definitely stand out in the final runnking order. HUGE contrast to Ireland before it. They have made a change to the middle part where the drums now ejaculate pyrotechnics which is much more effective than in the semi. HUGE audience reaction. Definitely a contender this year.

Josh up next for the UK. Its a happy poppy song . His vocals are excellent and

he interacts a little better with the backing singers than in rehearsal. He did the best he could with the song. After Greece, I cant see this doing well at all this year.

Then we have a break and go the a presenter in the commentators boxes and she has a nice chat with Graham Norton.

Now onto Georgia.. I've said before I don't like the choreography for this but it has qualified so it has to have appeal. Vocally she is just faultless. Red stage and win machine. This is a very strong ballad, can it do well as its the first song after the commercial break??

Manga next on for Turkey. Again, a huge contrast to Georgia before it. Dark set with flashing white lights, his best vocals to date in my opinion. Flames and angle grinder much better on camera. Great reaction in the hall. Not sure if its a winner, but I can't count it out. I think it will get consistent votes but if the 10s and 12s go everywhere, it could sneak in.

Julianna next for Albania. A great set for this, a great foot tapper after Turkey. After Greece and Turkey though I'm a litle worried that it may get lost but I hope not as I prefer it to them.

Hera Bjork next up for Iceland. Again, a fabulously coloured set for this one. Hera's vocals were great. Again, it could get compared to Albania before it and I cannot make up my mind which I prefer the best.. This could do better than many think and many others ( I can think of one lol) hope. Not a winner though.

Alyosha next for Ukraine. Vocally excellent. I can see juries really going for this but most fans hating it with a passion. I really like it now but I have no idea why that is! lol She really sells the song to the audience and to the camera and a great reaction in the hall to this one.

Jessy Matador now on for France. lots of camera shots of wiggling bums. Blue and gold set. Again it contrast time again as its so different to Ukraine just before it. Jessy asking audience to clap their hands. the we have the haka dance, the audience seems to be lapping this up. I cant see this doing well though.

Ovi and Paula next for Romania. I really see this as a serious contendor if an uptempo song is to win this year. They interact so well with each other , great pyrotechnics on stage. Great set , vocals also great. This really has a chance I feel.

Another huge contrast where Romania is followed on stage by Russia. Petre has his snow and wind machine. When walking home from the Euroclub after semi 1, I found myself humming this on the way , so not sure what that means! lol . Overall, performance was really good , some see this as a winner but it would shock me! Muted reaction in the hall

We then go to the green room where France, UK and Iceland are introduced and there is a smoking volcano on the Icelandic table

Armenia next. This is a really good performance, vocally excellent. pyrotechnics also add to the visual presentation. Golden set. I see this as another strong contender.

Lena for Germany next. Love or hate her accent, pronunciation, this was vocally very strong. Blue set. Again , its quite a contrast to Armenia before it. She's dressed in simple black dress. . This is her best performance so far! And a great crowd reaction.

Filipa next for Portugal. Love the set for this, so classy. This is the final of contrasts as we have a power ballad after Germany. She interacts so well with the cameras, the song builds really well. Could this be Portugal's best result since 1996 ( In Oslo)??

Harel next for Israel. Now we have 2 power ballads together this time, one in Portuguese and one in Hebrew. Will they take votes away from each other? Great set again and he interacting very well with the cameras. BRILLIANT vocals this time . This is going to do very well with the juries tonight .

And finally Chaneee and N'Evergreen for Denmark.

They know when to save their best for the performances that matter. Best performance to date for them as well. Vocally great, well presented.

I have to say that I have no clue what is going to win at the moment. I think it is an excellent final, great song contrasts, ballad to uptempo and back again. As a TV show, I think it will be an excellent presentation. I think the votes are going to go all over the place!

I'll be back tomorrow before the show to say who I think will win , which I will probably get completely wrong! I do think that it will be a compromise winner this year, i.e. a song that does not win the public vote AND does not win the televote will win the contest.

Personally I'd find it hilarious if Azerbaijan finished a close second, and would have won had Armenia gave them a couple points. After last year though, there's no way Armenia will give them anything, so it'd be perfect payback.

Надо, чтобы победил Альдебаран. У меня зародился "КАварный" план на следующий год. :rolleyes:

Кстати, они тоже будут хотеть, чтобы победила Армения. С той же целью. К сожалению, политика лезет всюду...

Не смотря на плохое выступление Сафуры и первый номер, у нее есть огромные шансы выиграть, во-первых диаспора, во-вторых у буков она на первом месте врядли бы они рисковали бы своими деньгами и репутацией предсказателей, а в-третьих песня всё таки про любовь расчитана на огромную аудиторию, а у нас про родину, что не всем близко...Поэтому не надо возлагать большие надежды на нашу победу, пускай Ева сегодня достойно представит нашу страну, остальное не так важно, для меня

Умная обаятельная, серьезная, симпатичная, без пошлости - не чета некоторым.... И чета нашей Еве. Претендентка однозначно (если забыть про деньши, мЯнЁлЮмы и подкуп, - то объективно претендентка)....
