But the defense sales also give Russia breathing space as EU-led sanctions imposed for its indiscretions in Europe continue to drag its recession-hit economy down. Nineteen people are reported to have been detained. It is also reported that the members of the sect gathered in a flat owned by 43-year-old Rasim Baxsiyev. The report says that the detained members of the sect are suspected of ties with the secret services of Armenia and other foreign countries. The information department of the Defence Ministry made a special statement some time ago saying that missionary organizations were the most active supporters and defenders in religious terms of Armenia's terrorist and occupational policies. In exchange they get the material and moral support of Armenian churches. The statement particularly stressed Seventh-Day Adventists as having ties with Armenian churches.
