OK main points from rehearsal:

BIG BIG point - Armenia SUPERB today TOTAL POTENTIAL winner - Top up NOW. Great stage set, vocal fab and really effortlessly gelling and she is THE beauty of the contest.

Azerbaijan - BIG STORY - the sexual chemistry with her and male dancers has gone. She now 4 FEMALE BACKING VOCALISTS and 1 male ballet dancer. GONE IS THAT AMAZING ROUTINE FROM THE PREVIEWS. This has REALLY taken away from the pure sex and chemistry of her and the 5 male dancers. Today she was vocally good. Looks defo Top 4 BUT THIS IS IN NO WAY A SHOO-IN WINNER THAT I THOUGHT. Big loss with this almost male-less stage routine. Plus her coming down steps does NOTHING to add any charm. There is NO set pattern with Eurovision winners - it can go to hot favs (Russia, Norway, Greece) but also to outsiders at 33s etc (Turkey, Latvia, Denmark) Azerbaijan I don't care if it's 4/5 on - based on today I think they are a contender - but I am now no more convinced than that.

The picture is becoming clearer by the minute with the

rehearsals and Azerbaijan's total change of show has made them still a DEFO contender for the crown BUT NO LONGER 'winner stamped all over it' and I think anything less than 4/1 on them (which no-one will get now) is poor value.

Showlad is right Armenia are good and a danger and I have topped up on them yeaterday and may take more. As we get closer I just have a gut feeling (and that all it is) that either Denmark and or Armena wil be the danger to Azerbijan

and not Israel or even Germany

The main dangers to Azerbaijan coming out of the rehearsals

are: Armenia - could well take the crown - same friendly neighbours, but better, more humble and appealing singer and at this point it's gelling better than Azerbaijan. That 'Safura the young diva for Azerbaijan and the male dancers' was electric - why now 4 female back vox???? - really has lost some ground at this stage FOR SURE.

Could this be a battle between Azerbijan and Armenia - it does back up my very early thoughts about a female winner this year with these two being most likele along with Germany (Germany may be a big hit or a big miss???) as some have suggeted. Memo to self: top up again on Armenia tomorrow!! Note how bad Israel are doing. Ireland doing better than i thought (needs a saver bet I think).

Finishing off my bets at the moment. Azerb' look very strong but won't be carrying any more money of mine. A victory for the favourite would see me in slight profit.

A bit concerned at the falling away of support for Denmark (as bigger price on Betfair as it has been for a long time) but am sticking to my guns and have topped up.

I'm warming even more to the Armenian entry which i think is nailed on for a top 3 finish. I've topped this bet up in past few days and this is now my biggest winner (we're talking family holiday in the sun).

Here is Azerbijans first reheral - if you have never seen one before you will be shocked as they ar ALL rougth around the edges at this stage - its all about sound checks, camera angles, movement etc and the fianl product for all countries is always 10times better (in most cases). Vocals very very good, performance needs a lot more work (and what is that guy doing on stage)?

If Armenia wins I would win as much as on Azerbijan

For most people there is no longer any value in Azerbijan unless you just want a small fun bet. Best EW bet left anyone - views? I think its Turkey for me - may just get 4th (if lucky) as there are always lots of rock fans out there (you need a bookie who pay 1/2/3 and 4th). Armenia themselves are still a good price and a resonable EW bet and probably safer than Turkey for 1st to 4th place..

Just to clarify for the team I am on Azerbaijan too (and at early very good odds) so my view on them isn't coloured by not wanting them to win or anything.

They are at odds comparable to last years winner and the song is very good, the singer vocally is good (but definitely not great) with strong charisma - BUT MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS IS NO 'FAIRYTALE' AND SHE AIN'T BY NO STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION A FEMALE ALEXANDER RYBAAK WHO TOTALLY DESERVED THE CRAZY SHORT ODDS.

Now Azerbaijan and the original set up with her and the guys - it's sealed. But Safura and 4 female backing vocalists (way too heavy female presence onstage now - sexual chemistry and play have GONE) and yes, bloody hilarious - WHAT IS THAT GUY ONSTAGE DOING??? Lol.

Sometimes you need to be brave and stand up against the tide - AZERBAIJAN ARE NOW NO LONGER SHOO-IN WINNERS.

Here's the biggie Team - thoughts please - I JUST DON'T THINK THE JURIES ARE GONNA BUY IT!!

50% of the vote from the juries and for me just now some acts are way ahead with the juries. Safura was good vocally the other day but there was the odd howler note too. Also Alexander was endearing and oozed talent..would some say Saufura and the 'cock sure' stage show might rub some juries the wrong way..maybe?

For me HOW Azerbaijan can lose now is they may still win the public vote, but if they are far enough down with the juries, then a country, most likely Armenia, who fares well with both will sneak in and claim the prize.

Very vaguely, but to outline my point, here's a quick sketch at how I VERY roughly see Top 8 with jury and Top 8 with public vote just now. Could go any way and the DRAW for the places in the final will be CRUCIAL:

don't feel any comparison between 'Drip, Drop' and 'Fairytale'. It appears that the Azerbaijan entry has been marketed aggressively through the internet, chat forums and the like. Also supported in the betting market. However, when it comes to various presentations and commentaries it appears that Azerbaijan is considered about midstream.

The thing with Azerbaijan is that it is too orchestrated. There is an industry behind with a large scale budget focusing on demo, remixes and internet promotion. Saturn might tend to do something like this - stiffle, stiffen and act in overcompensation. Safura is truely beautiful, but will the viewers feels compelled to vote for the babe and topless torso of her impeccable male dancer. The industry naturally wants to see their own production win and they will be supporting it - but will their campaign succeeed? Azerbaijan are receiving a mixed reception among the audience. A Swedish panel didn't even have them qualifying to the final. It is going to be very exciting to see how this works out.

I can certainly see a Azerbijan/Armenia fight to the finish. Both will have lots of friends and both have been aired all over Eastern Europe and even further. Both very very good and what you would expect from a Euro winner and both have young female singers (a female will win this year!!). There is certainly a ceraim amont of anti Azerbijan proparganda (which could back fire) going around suggetsing they have spent a lot of mone are too big heeded etc but this is from other countries who feer them (and so they should).

I really really hope Azerbaijan does NOT win. The song is by FAR not one of the best and the country cheated its way to take part this way, not that the latter should matter since this is a song contest, but still it matter for the morals of this contest if such a country who can't play by the rules wins.

Looking at the polls I'd hope for Germany. They have one of the best songs this year and most up-to-date aswell.

Slovakia is underrated With the new jury system ethno will slowly die in Eurovision and it will turn into just another American Idol show which SUCKS.

Anyway whoever cast their vote for Azerbaijan says yes to a Eurovision future of more corruption, cheating and bribing. It's your choice. Also this song has NOTHING to do with Azerbaijan. The only Azeri thing with the song is the singer while the rest are just hired from other countries in a desperation from this regime to win and show off.
