In 2003 two guys from Yerevan, Armenia Al (drums) and Wild (rhythm guitar) decided to create a band. Al invited his friends Key (lead guitar) and Goox (bass guitar) to join them. They decided to name the band “Crucifixion”. After some hard work they composed several compositions in Thrash Metal style.

The first live performance the group had was in the Center of Contemporary Art in summer of 2004. Among many bands acted at a concert, “Crucifixion” had been distinguished by a good sound and technical readiness. After that concert the group stopped the activity for short time as Key had left for the USA for four months.

By the end of 2004, when Key had arrived from the USA, the band at last found the vocalist. It was Eva, very talented and literate girl who studied at the Yerevan State Conservatory.

At the end of 2004 Al left the group.

Loss of the leader hadn`t stopped them and the group decided to find another drummer. Soon, Koryun, one of the metal drummers in Yerevan, joined them as he was an old friend of Key.

The group did not hasten with live performances preferring thorough and solid preparation.

The new lineup was: Eva Sujian(vocals), Vilen (Wild) Osipyan(guitars), Karen (Key) Khurshudyan (guitars), George (Goox) Pirumov(bass), Koryun Bobikyan(drums and percussion).

Eva's arrival had changed much in group, as the participants at last created the common idea and philosophy of the band, music became more progressive, melodious and competent. That was the beginning of a new band which was called “STRYFE”.

Name STRYFE came from the word STRIFE which means a struggle, a struggle against a human harm, hatred and insidiousness which are sung almost in all songs. Unlike other metal groups which sing about death, blood or about evil, “STRYFE”`s songs are devoted to the good (light).

For this short period of time the band has already had time to take part in several concert actions, such as: the action, devoted to the day of struggle about AIDS in July 2005, the action devoted to Amenian Genocide in 2005. Under the initiative of group " STRYFE " and with the financial support of British Embassy of Armenia a musical action had been organized and led on November 21st, 2005 which was devoted to the Referendum on acceptance of the new project of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia (Rock The Referendum).

STRYFE has no studio records but some songs have been recorded during concerts which have not been presented to the listeners. It is planned to record the first album of the band "Cursed Theatre" by the end of 2007.
