Open Letter to the Clergy of the Armenian Apostolic Church

It is already over 1700 years that Armenian and Armenian people cannot recover from a fatal mistake that our `great` ancestor have made, like King Trdat, Gregory the Illuminator and other illuminators" and human souls hunters, that, with fire and sword, have forced alien faith on our people. Because of these efforts, Armenia, that in earlier times has been powerful flourishing, spread out from Black Sea to Caspian Sea (and ancient and proud Armenian people), lost practically everything - independence, territorial integrity, national, family and moral traditions. We have had enormous human losses when endured the Genocide, expatriation and assimilation.

Everybody knows the reasons of this tragedy. But almost nobody talks aloud a thing that all are thinking about: Lord's anger and punishment pursue Armenia and Armenians for treachery to faith, betrayal of national interests and traditions. It is neither a whim nor mystical theory, but sensible analysis of Armenian history. One should only to compare Armenia before adopting Christianity and after that. What Christianity has given to Armenian people? Which were Armenians' advantages of it? Why strangers, demolishing our temples and sacred places, built their churches and cathedrals on the ruins? Why Armenian Apostolic Church has usurped our heathen holidays, traditions and ceremonies?

And who doesn't know about corruption within Armenian Apostolic Church? For example, what is the price of some church position, holy orders, and clergymen's services during the ceremonies of birth, baptism, weddings and funeral? We, the members of the Motherland" National National-Liberation Movement, are not ourselves raging opponents or enemies of Christianity, as well as of Islam, Buddhism and other faiths. We are adherents and supporters of our old Armenian Heathen faith that has guarded our peace and prosperity for the space of thousands of years.

By the way, who and why has prescribed that all Armenians must be Christians, and the head of Armenian Apostolic Church must be called `Katholikos of all Armenians`? Don't you know, gentlemen, that until now there is a lot of Armenians - adherents of Heathenism? Or those who were conversed to Islam by force? Or those who roam through different streams of Christianity? Or those who does not believe in any God? So who gave you moral right to disparage us, non-Christian Armenians, and dignify your leader by the name of `Katholikos of all Armenians`? It is not so, after all!

And if it isn't so, find courage into you and declare that this person is spiritual leader only for Christian Armenians, who are adherents of Armenian Apostolic Church. Nobody will bear a grudge against you.

In general, we, Armenians, have to review many things very radically. It is necessary to say frankly, whether Vasak Mamikonyan was a traitor? Was Gregory the Illuminator real Armenian and patriot of Armenia? Did Mesrop Mashtots create Armenian alphabet and literary language? Did Movses Khorenatsi write truth about Armenian history? Why and who left Armenia and Armenians to laceration by numerous religious organizations, to so-called souls catchers, such as Mormons, Baptists, Krishnaites, Satanists, Jehovah witnesses, and so on? There is a lot of similar `why`s today. That is why it would better also for Armenian Apostolic Church to bring repentance for its numerous sins. Massacres of clergymen and believers, demolition of temples and worship places are these sins.

When one tries to contradict real facts and takes the argument away into higher subjects (God, people, destiny, etc.), then demagogy comes. You must take into consideration the following: priesthood is not corporation of businesspersons, and spiritual buildings are not plants or factories. Don't forget it!

As soon as you came, do serve honestly for Armenian people. If you cannot, leave us on your own free will!
