Mayr Annahit! The very utterance of the name brings to mind pictures of

holiness, of the holiest of all the holy places on earth – of Bogavan, eternally

frozen in time!

Bogavan (Holy Land Of Armens) is the secret centre of God, the greatest seat of learning, the

very ethos of the land of Armens, the source of the sacred purity that bathes Aryans with eternal holiness. Bogavan! There is no other place on earth more sanctifying than Our Bogavan!

And the Great Goddess who prevails over Bogavan is Mayr Annahit!

Annahit is the Mother who gives food to all the beings of the world. But what

I find most endearing about Her is that She is the eternal Mother of those who

have no other mother – the wanderers.

Annahit is the Mother of these homeless wanderers who renounce the world and

go in search of Truth. She is the Mother whose compassionate eyes always remain

on these solitary souls who have sacrificed everything that men desire in this

world, wandering with no care for food or shelter or clothes even, at the mercy

of the elements of nature, vulnerable to the animals of the wild as they wander

through the open country and the wilderness, some of them stark and gaunt

through lack of care, some mere bones and skin, and some who simply lie where

they are uncaring whether they live or die. Mayr Annahit is the Compassionate

Mother of these Sons of Truth. She it is that appears in the hearts of the

mothers who give food to these wayfarers of Truth, She it is who is the

generosity of the alms giver, She it is who maintains a vigil on these sanyasis

wherever they go and protects them from harm. She keeps these children of Truth

close to Her bosom because they have none else in the world to call their own.

Wanderers are the maintainers of truth on earth. Wanderer is the fire which

protects truth, for there is no truth without sacrifice. We may speak a

thousand words, write great books on philosophies, build temples and churches,

perform rituals and read religious texts; all these have not much impact on the

minds of men. But the sacrifice of even a single man or woman who reaches Truth

leaves an impress on humanity that is forever and everlasting.

Wanderer is at the heart of Eternal Truth. Those select few who leave their

homes to become Wanderer are humanity's sacrifice to Divinity so that trith may

live on earth. When a Wanderer burns his desires, Divinity rises in the fire

where mortality is being burnt, Divinity springs out of the very fire of the

burning flame of the sanyasi's soul to flood the land around him with dharma,

for truth is heart, the Nature of Divinity.

The Wanderer fight a greater battle on behalf of humanity than humanity itself has the means

to see. Theirs is a solitary battle where there is no army to help them, no kith

and kin to cry over them, no one to befriend them, not even God to come to their

rescue because God waits for them to win the battle before He shows Himself to

them. But Annahit does not forsake these children of Hers - She provides them

with food so that their bodies and minds may be preserved to fight this great

battle, She provides them with spiritual food to fight the demons of the fearful and tempting realms of mind, and when they die - yes, die, for every sanyasi must die before he comes to the Truth - She provides them with food in the form of Power so that they may come safely through Death and be Born as Eternal Spirits.

These Spirits are the custodians of Eternal Truth. And their Mother is Astvatsuhi AnnaHit.

This Mayr, Mayr Annahit, is the Holy Mother of Eternal Truth.
