B) Finns shocked by Eurovision band Finland's controversial entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest - a heavy metal band called Lordi (The Lord) - has upset many Finns. The band members wear scary masks, which they refuse to take off, and the lead singer wields a chain-saw. Their song Hard Rock Hallelujah is a radical departure from the folk songs usually associated with Eurovision. Finnish online chatrooms are full of comments from people concerned about their country's reputation abroad. Some Finns have even asked the president to intervene. But Lordi was a people's choice: their hit got more than 42% of the votes cast by televoting in the Finnish final. Devil's advocate? Lordi, influenced by the American hard rock band Kiss and its lead singer Gene Simmons, has not escaped allegations of links with Satanism. Father Mitro Repo, an Orthodox Christian clergyman in Helsinki, described the band's use of the name "Lordi" as "sacrilege". "I think it's a stupid joke of Finland," he told the BBC's World Today programme, commenting on the country's Eurovision choice. "Lord have mercy on us Finnish people now," he said, adding that the choice appeared to be a protest by youngsters annoyed that Finland had failed to score highly in Eurovision.

Armenia Andre wanted to thank God for the opportunity, and was especially excited as he really wanted to be drawn last in the final. We will know in a bit more than an hour. 15. Ukraine: The Shakira of Ukraine stands up and gives one of the best performances of Show me your love of the past two weeks. Simply good, especially the come-back of her dancers after a vocal climax. 14. Turkey: We've heard better performances of Sibel, but it wasn't bad either! Without raising political issues here, the support from the Greek audience for the Turkish entry is big. 13. Russia: Our secret agents all over Europe told us that this song works, particulary with the girls. Dima Bilan is an icon in Russia and an international carreer seems an option. It's our second time and we know what to expect", he said. A strong performance, although slightly messy on stage, especially as soon as the pyrotechnics are being used. 11. A beautiful ballad, equally beautiful pe rformed by Annet and, not to forget, her professional backing vocals! 8. Ireland: It works. It simply works. The audience seems to get along very well with this rather simple, but touching ballad from the Green Island. The audience rewards him with a well-deserved applause. Ученые надеются, что находка поможет пролить свет на прошлое контенента. По внешнему виду развалины напоминают английский Стоунхендж. Ученые полагают, что строение могло служить либо древней обсерваторией, либо местом для молебнов. Предполагают, что каменный комплекс был возведен до начала европейской колонизации и свидетельствует об обширных познаниях местного населения в астрономии. Ранее было принято считать, что до прихода европейских колонизаторов в Амазонии не было развитого общества. Комплекс расположен в штате Амапа на севере Бразилии на вершине холма. Он состоит из 127 каменных блоков весом по нескольку тонн каждый. Камни хорошо сохранились. Они установлены вертикально на равном расстоянии друг от друга. Пока что сложно с точностью установить, когда был создан комплекс. Однако обнаруженные при раскопках гончарные изделия свидетельствуют о том, что возраст комплекса может превышать 2 тысячи лет. Which artist have influenced you musically? "Internationally, Whitney Houston. We also have our own State Music Theatre, which is one of the best and has produced good artists". You were born in Azerbaijan, so how does it feel to represent Armenia, and what are you memories of the Eurovision song contest? "Well actually when I was born it was all part of the Soviet Union. I think its great that the Eurovision song contest unites all countries, in terms of friendship, and there are no conflicts. I am a huge fan, but never had the opportunity to vote, but I think the best songs have won the contest". Are you aware that you are no the only Armenian in the contest, that there is also an Armenian who is a dancer as part of the Turkish entry? "I think that's cool. In the same way we have Russian dancers who are part of our entry, this is what I think is good about the contest, its perfect". Which countries have you been to promote your entry?
