TITLE: Project Director

We are looking for a motivated and qualified candidate disposing the necessary expertise and background to fill the position of Project Director for the grant project on Financial Sustainability of the Armenian NGO Sector. The project is implemented by PFCS NGO specialized in advocacy issues in Armenia. The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the NGO President and the Board.

DUTIES:

- Management and coordination of all activities under the Project

- Supervision and development of the Project staff making 6 employees

- Direct interaction with the donor organization

- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports; oversight of the Project’s financial reporting

- Coordination and participation in the action plan as well as budget follow-up, advocacy strategic planning and

issues related to legislative initiatives, monitoring and evaluation process

- Implementation of special projects related to internal and/or external communications initiatives

- Participation in fundraising process within Armenia and outside

- Participation in events, activities and discussions invited by the PFCS constituencies and beneficiaries

- Coordination of the institutional development of NGO based strategy process on this Project

- Oversight of the three branch offices’ activities in marzes

- Developing partnerships with the RA National Assembly, Government and LSG representatives.

REQUIREMENTS:

- University degree in the relevant field;

- Proven expertise in the field of advocacy, public policy and fundraising issues

- Familiarity with NGO community, activities of the third sector and NGO-related legislation

- Work experience with Armenian NGOs, mass media, state and LSG bodies

- Project management and supervisory skills

- Excellent presentation, public speaking and negotiation skills

- Vast experience in strategic development and proposal writing

- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet applications

- Fluency in Armenian and English languages.

Position: Strategic Planning and Business Development Expert

A Strategic Planning process is needed to develop an appropriate strategy and goals for a newly established organization to become sustainable and successful.

The Strategic Planning process should address, at a minimum, three essential issues for next 3 years:

 Situation Assessment

 Key Performance Criteria

 Goals & Objectives

An expert is needed to assist the organization’s Senior Management formulate strategies and analyze the potential impacts of those strategies; select the most promising ones; and initiate projects to achieve them.

More Specific Tasks:

A Strategic Planner is required to support the development and presentation of a multi-level multi-year strategic plan including:

 Review of Client’s vision, mission, values, and assumptions.

 Developing Client’s strategic goals and tactics for 2006-2009.

 Outlining Client’s individual Departments’ strategic goals and tactics to advance those goals, and then projects they would implement. This should include but not be limited to key tasks, resource requirements and management, dates, and budgets.

 Developing defined approaches to measure projects via a result-based project design.

 Provide Staff development and HR consultancy and trainings.

Requirements:

A strategic planning consultant should have advanced technical training and at least 5 years experience in strategic planning and business development, experience in working with development organizations with a thorough understanding of linkages with agricultural production and marketing in developing countries.

Languages: Proficiency in English and Armenian. Knowledge of Russian is an asset.

The Armenian Forests NGO seeks candidates for a coordinator position on a significant project. The Armenian Forest NGO takes a multi-faceted approach to protecting the forests of Armenia including:

1. Gyumri Area Development Program (ADP) Health Coordinator

Destination

This position is to be located in Gyumri on a full time basis.

Purpose of Position

In collaboration with WV Armenia Area Development Program (ADP), Health and Design, Monitoring and Evaluation (DME) teams to design and implement activities aimed at improving health of ADP area populations and preventing spread of HIV/AIDS in beneficiary communities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

* To conduct situational assessments in order to define needs and gaps in MCHN and HIV/AIDS response in World Vision Armenia ADP-s with emphasis on prevention

* To realize epidemiological monitoring in ADP area communities in order to forecast and detect possible outbreaks of infectious diseases and to carry out timely response to contain and further to prevent reemergence of outbreaks

* To bear responsibility for the health/medical component of ADP emergency preparedness/response

* To participate in the project design and proposal writing phases to address needs of the ADP communities in MCHN and HIV/AIDS response.

* Be responsible for coordination and implementation of HIV/AIDS and MCHN grant and non-grant funded programs in ADP area in collaboration with ADP and Health Department’s staff

* To realize technical monitoring of MCHN and HIV/AIDS interventions in ADP area

* To organize quarterly and annual health checkups for CIP-s and to update respective databases regularly

* To be in charge of confidentiality and safety of medical information

* To prepare and submit monthly reports to ADP manager (with information on the progress of all ADP health projects (grant and non grant)) and Quarterly Technical reports (summarized reports on projects’ success indicators) to MCHN and HIV/AIDS coordinators and Health Programs Manager

* Nurture working relationship with the local health authorities, NGOs, medical community, stakeholders and other counterparts related to the field of HIV/AIDS and MCHN. Latter should be fulfilled in coordination with ADP manager who is the ultimate responsible for representation of World Vision in ADP area.

2. HIV/ AIDS PROGRAM OFFICER

The following full time position is based at World Vision Armenia’s National Office in Yerevan.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the supervision of World Vision Armenia (WVA) Health Programs Manager to organize and coordinate World Vision Armenia’s efforts to fight HIV/AIDS epidemic in Armenia, particularly in WVA Area Development Program (ADP) areas.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

· Conducts situational assessment in order to define needs and gaps in HIV/AIDS response countrywide with emphasis on WVA ADP-s; participate in the project design and proposal writing phases to address needs of the ADP communities in HIV/AIDS response.

· Responsible for coordination and implementation of all HIV/AIDS grant and non-grant funded programs countrywide; ensures coordination of program activities with the ADP Health Coordinator, ADP staff and communities to successfully implement HIV/AIDS projects in ADPs; provide technical advise to aforementioned as requested and takes a lead in problems’ resolution to ensure a high level of quality and effective performance.

· Provide technical monitoring for all WV Armenia HIV/AIDS projects; conduct site visits, evaluate implemented activities focusing on impact, lessons learnt, problem areas; resolve problems reported or identified during site visits; submit project monitoring and implementation documents; provide periodic updates and makes recommendations to manager on the ways to overcome difficulties.

· Identify needs and organize capacity building training, workshops and presentations for ADP HIV/AIDS program staff. Prepare training materials, and organize periodical trainings and seminars on HIV/AIDS for World Vision Armenia.

· Responsible for timely reporting to the manager and donors on WV Armenia HIV/AIDS programs

· Obtain, analyze, and evaluate a variety of HIV/AIDS data, evaluate WV Armenia HIV/AIDS response, compile lessons learnt and propose changes in design of existing HIV/AIDS projects, assist in development of the final strategy paper.

· Work closely with MEER and GFOAM to facilitate the design and implement ADP integrated HIV response programs as well as HIV response through grant-funded programs, especially through integration with other health sectors.

· Establish and maintain working relationship with the local and national health authorities, NGOs, medical community, Christian leaders, stakeholders and other counterparts related to the field of HIV/AIDS; establish working interpersonal and communication skills within the organization.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and competences:

· Candidate should have a Master Degree in Public Health and/or Medical background.

· A thorough knowledge and understanding of the Armenian health sector is essential. This must be complemented by a comprehensive knowledge the social and cultural characteristics, development prospects and priorities for Armenia and the region.

· Must be able to establish and maintain contacts with senior level officials of the host government at the national, regional and local levels, other donors, NGOs and stakeholders.

· Proven skills to strategize, develop and implement effective HIV/AIDS program are required; must be able to obtain, analyze, and evaluate a variety of statistical data and to organize and present this in concise written and oral form.

· Proven organizational behavior and team work aptitude are must.

· At least 1 year of progressively responsible experience in HIV/AIDS project design, monitoring and evaluation is essential.

· Fluency in both Armenian and English is required. Fluent Russian is highly desirable.

· Computer literacy ( Windows XP, MS Office, MS Vision and database management..

· Good reporting and presentation skills are required.

      Ранее, 22 июня, попытка избрать патриарха провалилась, поскольку ни один из кандидатов не смог набрать две трети голосов, а это одно из требований, избирательного синодального устава восточных церквей.

       
      Отмечается, что новый патриарх заменит Григора Петроса, который скончался в мае 2021 года. С этой целью в Рим приглашены епископы Армянской Католической церкви, служащие в епархиях различных городов мира.
       
      Епископы соберутся в Лионской духовной семинарии в Риме. Выборы начнутся под руководством кардинала Леонардо Сантри 22 сентября.
