The United Nations Development Programme in Armenia announces an opening for the following position:

Annual Work Plan: “Support to Anti-Corruption Initiatives”

Post Title: Annual Work Plan (AWP) Assistant

Starting Date: October 2006

Duration: 3 months probation with possible extension

Location: Yerevan, Armenia

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of UNDP Democratic Governance Programme Analyst and direct supervision of “Strengthening Awareness and Response in Exposure of Corruption in Armenia” AWP Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing support to AWP implementation in general administration, financial resource management, procurement and human resources administration.

- Provides support to AWP Coordinator in coordination and arrangement of AWP activities and their timely implementation.

- Compiles, analyses, summarizes data and records of AWP activities;

- Compiles, researches background material for use in discussions and briefing sessions;

- Assists the AWP Coordinator in liaising with key stakeholders from the Government counterpart, Donor Community, Civil Society and NGOs as required;

- Takes notes/minutes at meetings and ensures follow up;

- Makes arrangements for missions, experts, drafts agendas, prepares briefing kits and background materials;

- Provides support to AWP Coordinator in organizing meetings, seminars, trainings and workshops within the framework of the AWP;

- Drafts correspondence relating to assigned project areas; clarifies, follows up, responds to requests for information;

- Assists the AWP Coordinator in preparing progress reports on quarterly basis, as well as other reports requested by the AWP Coordinator.

- Carries out routine processing of AWP official correspondence;

- Ensures accurate observance of administrative rules, regulations and procedures within the framework of AWP and in line with UNDP SOPs for Recruitment/Procurement/Finance;

- Makes necessary arrangements for procurement, recruitment within the framework of AWP;

- Ensures smooth financial operation of AWP activities and follows up on all financial transactions. Carries out day-to-day financial transactions;

- Acts as project petty cash custodian, prepares petty cash transactions and reports;

- Maintains financial records, monitors and reconciles expenditures, balances, payments, statements, other data for day-today transactions and reports;

Required qualifications:

Education: University degree in economics, social sciences, or related discipline.

Experience: 3 years of relevant administrative experience is required, preferably with international organizations/embassies. Knowledge of overall socio-economic situation in the country, its development trends and strategies. Good communication skills, ability to negotiate with the government and non-government entitles, teamwork approach. Awareness of Anti-Corruption processes, an asset.

Computer skills: Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.

Languages: Fluency in English, Armenian, and Russian.

Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM)

Principle Recipient Implementation Unit (PRIU)

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Destination

This part time (75%) position is to be located in Yerevan.

Purpose of Position

To provide M&E support to the PRIU in the implementing of the GFATM grant in coordination with partners.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for the overall M&E system design and its periodic review including indicators and data flow management, M&E flow chart, M&E operations manual and database

* Review and maintain the M&E database with support of the Program Officers

* Provide technical support on data verification and to provide guidance including development of tools for the M&E system with particular emphasis on quality control

* Provide input in the programmatic progress in the monthly, quarterly and annual reports

* Receive M&E supervisory feedback from the POs of the SRs progress and provide advice for appropriate technical follow-up

* Perform scheduled and adhoc M&E visits to SRs to assist POs in their work of which 20% of work time to be spent at SR field sites outside Yerevan

* Make recommendations to the TL on any needs on M&E capacity training of PRIU staff

* Provide support to the PRIU in M&E training as required

* Assist the TL in M&E analysis and lesson learning of the program

* Work with the TL to ensure M&E activities are adequately covered in the program

* Participate in M&E external co-ordination activities as required by the TL

Required Qualifications Skills and Competencies

Experience:

At least 2 years of relevant experience with international organizations in a similar position either managing umbrella grants, working with National Government/ local NGOs or directly implementing HIV/AIDS programming

Experience in working at a senior level with government officials, NGOs, Donor agencies is required.

Thorough knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues and ability to put this into a post Soviet Environment is essential. Health background preferable.

Demonstrated ability to compile and analyze programmatic budgets.

Strong experience in monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating programmatic information.

Previous experience of working in a Project Implementation Unit, managing umbrella grants, public and private grants as well as running public relations is an advantage.

Experience working with Government in an advisory role while remaining accountable to external stakeholders is an advantage.

Education :

Advanced degree or the equivalent experience in Social Sciences, Management, Development, Public Health or other related field is required.

Им нужен менеджер по маркетингу(с финансовым уклоном), обязательно армянин по национальности, со знанием английского и армянского.

The Volunteership

As one of the top documentary film and design studios in the Caucasus region, Bars Media gives interns the opportunity to interact closely with filmmakers in a small, quickly growing office with an international team, as well as learning about a new culture and a different part of the world.

Bars Media produces documentaries for local and international organizations such as the United Nations, Habitat for Humanity and USAID. We are also in various stages of producing documentaries for international television and for theatrical releases dealing with the subjects of war, humanity, propaganda, corruption, history and archaeology. The Diaspora Coordinator position specifically involves the marketing of our latest film to the Diaspora in North America, Europe, and the rest of the world. Requirements

The volunteer should:

· Have a great sense of humor, an adventurous spirit, and ability to “go with the flow.”

    • В Риме изберут Патриарха Армянской Католической церкви
      В сентябре в Риме пройдет епископальное собрание, в рамках которого планируется избрание Патриарха Армянской Католической церкви.
       
      Об этом сообщает VaticanNews.
       
      Ранее, 22 июня, попытка избрать патриарха провалилась, поскольку ни один из кандидатов не смог набрать две трети голосов, а это одно из требований, избирательного синодального устава восточных церквей.

       
      Отмечается, что новый патриарх заменит Григора Петроса, который скончался в мае 2021 года. С этой целью в Рим приглашены епископы Армянской Католической церкви, служащие в епархиях различных городов мира.
       
      Епископы соберутся в Лионской духовной семинарии в Риме. Выборы начнутся под руководством кардинала Леонардо Сантри 22 сентября.
